ESCATEC’s project management methodology has been designed to support the exacting requirements of ESCATEC’s medical electronics certification under the ISO-13485 accreditation scheme. This demands rigorous processes for the management of projects and the mitigation of risk in projects. By taking the best practise principles defined by this quality accreditation we are able to tailor our well established processes to fit the requirements of a specific project during the project planning stage.
Due to the ever increasing complexity and the variability of projects; a “one-size-fits-all” project management system is uneconomical - it is important not to introduce more effort than is absolutely necessary. ESCATEC’s project management process is flexible and allows the project team considerable latitude in deciding what actions are really needed and what deliverables are appropriate for each phase of the project.
The challenge for every project manager is to assess every activity, template, deliverable and meeting in the project procedure to determine whether it creates added value for the customer. Every non-value-added item needs to be removed. This approach leads to a project process set-up which guarantees a “lean” approach to project management.
ESCATEC’s project management process is established at all sites and is based on the Project Management Institute (PMI) standard following the “plan-do-check-act” philosophy. Our project managers are PMI certified Project Management Professionals (PMPs).
