COO's Message

From the desk of the Chief Operating Officer of the ESCATEC Group

Dear Customers, Suppliers and Soon-To-Be Customers!

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you Mr David Taylor. David joined us earlier this year in the newly created position of Director Customer Service (DCS). In this function, David will work very closely with our customers and Key Account Managers and has the task to enhance our customer service across the ESCATEC Group. The DCS position is based at our headquarters in Penang, Malaysia in order to be close to our operations and ensure delivery of the best possible service to all our customers.

We are also expanding our sales team in the field. Mr David Scollick joined us in May as Business Development Manager for the UK and Ireland, based in the town of Stevenage, just a short distance north of London.

We will very shortly also welcome a new Business Development Manager for Germany and Austria, based in Munich, and new appointments are currently being pursued for Scandinavia and the United States.

As part of our strategic growth plan for the future, ESCATEC has recently announced that we will expand our product design and development capacity. The very successful product design and development projects that we have completed during the past few years, has prompted us to expand in this area. We believe that this capability to assist our customer from the very earliest stages of designing their products, combined with our detailed knowledge of the requirements for mass manufacture is something that brings significant value to our customers.

Daniel Pfeifer, Manager R&D ESCATEC Switzerland, will become Group R&D manager with responsibility for managing all ESCATEC product design services by bringing together our design teams in Switzerland and Penang under a single department. He has taken on the task of greatly expanding the design team in Penang Malaysia from a current strength of 15 engineers to 50 engineers, and then looking to expand in other locations to support further growth in design services over the next 5 years.

Since my last message, ESCATEC Mechatronics in Shanghai has been able to announce the appointment of Reto Felber, a Swiss national, as the new General Manager. Reto is an experienced tool maker by background, and his knowledge will enable a boost in regards to technical know how and experience in tool making and injection moulding both to the work of ESCATEC Mechatronics, and also across our other plastic moulding operations within the group.

At your service,
Markus Walther
COO, ESCATEC Group
